I have lived a sinful life and am turning to G-d and the Torah for guidance on living the remainder of my life to please Him. Thank you so much for your enlightening and uplifting guidance. Reply

Shana tova! I can tell from the above comment that you are having a positive influence in many lives. I have always loved Yom Kippur, but I have know many persons who are afraid of it. Thank you for your wonderful words about Yom Kippur. Reply
My fright is gone
Dear Rabbi Friedman,
I was so frightened of Rosh Hashana and Jom Kippur. I thought, G-d, who loves me a whole year, turns on these days into my enemy, wants to punish me, perhaps kill me during the coming year. (Of course I would have deserved it. I kept all m y doubts and my thoughts to me. They were mine, exactly as you explained.I even was rebellious about many things.)
You changed everything in your explanations. I listended to them several times. We say in German: Es ist zu schoen, um wahr zu sein!
It (nearly) is too beautiful to be true.
This year I am looking forward to the High Holidays. I w a n t to have a deeper relationship with Hashem, I want to love Him more. And you explained, that it is possible!!!
Thank you so much!

While listening to the High Holidays-Rish Hashanah and Yom Kippur the mention of the halocast please explain to me how 6 million Jews including children infants should be slaughtered and The Priests nuns and gentiles exterminated for their goodness. I am 66 years old and still I question G d Why. I am still trying to understand this and why all punished. I look at today and real evil people get a slap on the hand for murder
This indeed is a great question and much effort and ink have been used to discuss these important questions. I would like to share with you a few essays that may share some perspective on the questions.
